    1968

    Fire Board (N.S.W.) Employees’ Credit Union Limited was formed on 12 September 1968 in response to a group of firefighters recognising the need for a mutual financial organisation that understood their needs.

    Founding Board Members were: R Gosling (Chairman), E Bowers (Vice Chairman), J Dudley (Hon. Secretary), R Hall (Hon. Treasurer), L Barrett, J Foran, B Johnson, B Lewis, N Martin and G Regan.

    The office was located at Fire Brigade Headquarters Level 3, 213 Castlereagh Street, Sydney. Those involved in the early years were all volunteers. 
    1975 Norm Ransom appointed Secretary/Manager and first full time employee. Membership 1,291 with total assets of $906 thousand.
    1980 Member records computerised.
    1985
    		 Cheque books and Point of Sale (POS) machines introduced.
    1986
    		 Norm Ransom retired and succeeded by Warren Scott.
    1987  Redicard and the Rediteller ATM network introduced. Members able to withdraw up to $500 per card per day.
    1988
    		 Warren Scott retired as Secretary/Manager and succeeded by Brian Alexander. Membership 2,982 with total assets of $12 million.
    1988
    		 The Siren magazine is introduced.
    1989
    		 Brian Alexander retired and succeeded by Mr Clinton Banks.
    1990
    		 Name changed to Fire Brigades Employees Credit Union Limited.
    1992
    		 Office relocated to Level 2, 125 Bathurst Street, Sydney
    1994
    		 24 hour telephone banking introduced.
    1995
    		 Clinton Banks retired as General Manager and succeeded by Jim O’Connell, current General Manager.
    1998 Celebrated our 30th Anniversary. Membership 5,431 with assets of $59 million.
    2000 Our first website and internet banking service established. Visa Debit card introduced.
    2002
    		 BPAY introduced.
    2005
    		 Mortgage Broking service introduced.
    2010
    		 Office relocated to Level 6, 233 Castlereagh Street, Sydney
    2011 Mobile Banking introduced.
    2015  Office relocated to Level 9, 1 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.
    2016
    		 Merged with Teachers Mutual Bank Limited and name change to Firefighters Mutual Bank.
    2018
    		 Celebrating our 50th anniversary. Assets of $235 million and named as one of the 2018 World’s Most Ethical Companies*
