Like you, we’re here to make a difference in the communities we serve.
In fact, it is written into part of our Constitution to create better communities for our members.
As a member-owned bank founded in a fire station over 50 years ago, reinvesting in the emergency services community is central to the way we operate.
And compared to big banks, our community investment is 11 - 22 times greater as a percentage of our profits after tax, giving back 6.8% to the Bank's members and the community.
It’s about serving and promoting the well-being and longevity of a community that does so much good.
Events we are associated with include:
The camp is the first of its kind in Australia, bringing together the Rural Fire Service, State Emergency Service (SES) and Fire and Rescue NSW in a joint initiative to encourage young women to consider a career or volunteer work in the emergency services.
We sponsor and attend these regional and state championships which showcase the skills and expertise that firefighters use every day.
This climb is an annual event where firefighters climb Sydney Tower Eye to raise money and awareness for motor neurone disease. It’s a gruelling challenge with 1,504 steps and wearing over 20kg of full firefighting gear, but nothing compared to those living with the disease.
We’ve been part of Australia’s largest emergency and public safety annual conference for the last 3 years. AFAC is the perfect forum for Emergency Services Management to collaborate and share insights into the latest technologies and solutions.
These awards acknowledge and celebrate selfless community service by paid and volunteer emergency service workers whom have gone above and beyond their call of duty.
An annual event comprising a group of firefighters from ACT and NSW, who bike an incredible 400kms to raise funds for the Burns Unit at Westmead Children’s Hospital, which treats over 1,000 children every year.
